Agency University
FAQ's

What is Agency University?
Agency University (AU) is an education program of the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) that provides Continuing Education Units to its Member Agencies through a partnership with El Centro Community College. Through courses offered at the Food Bank and online, the Agencies learn valuable capacity building skills in various areas of nonprofit development, empowering the Agencies and inspiring organizational growth.

How does participating in AU affect my Agency?
Each AU course is designed to present valuable information in a realistic and accessible way. The skills you can develop include anything from Health and Nutrition best practices to Fundraising strategies and Accounting basics. All you have to do is implement your new skills in your organization after taking the class!

How many classes am I required to take?
The NTFB strongly encourages, but does not require, the completion of any AU classes.

Aside from being motivated to better my organization, why should I take AU courses?
The NTFB offers amazing incentives for the completion of AU courses:

  1. Show Me The Money! - The completion of one or more AU courses can help you reach a higher Tier on the NTFB's Agency Tier Program. A higher Tier means more shared maintenance grant money credited directly to your NTFB account!

  2. VIP Access - Each semester our amazing CEO, Jan Pruitt, will host a lunch for Agencies who have completed at least one course during that period. In addition to the perks of networking, good food, and good company, you will have the chance to win $200 of shared maintenance credit to your NTFB account!

  3. Top of the Class - Thanks to our partnership with El Centro Community College, you will receive Continuing Education Units (CEU's) for every Agency University course that you complete. Don't miss out on free college credit!

  4. Bragging Rights - If you complete a certain number of courses in the 2010 AU school year, you will be eligible to participate in our AU graduation ceremony at the MAC! Be recognized in front of your peers for your scholastic accomplishments!

How much does it cost to take a class at AU?
AU is completely FREE to all NTFB Member Agencies!

Where are the sessions held?
AU courses are available online or right here at the food bank depending on the course. Refer to the registration packet or the website (www.ntfb.org/au) for specific course information.
