Colleen Townsley Brinkmann
Chief Philanthropy Officer

Colleen Townsley Brinkmann serves the North Texas Food Bank (NTFB) as Chief Philanthropy Officer and is responsible for the strategic development and implementation of its marketing, philanthropy, public relations and donor services efforts.

Prior to assuming this role in 2002, Brinkmann was Director of Communications for Leadership Network for five years. She was also Director of Communications for the Greater Dallas Community of Churches for eight years, working in tandem with KXAS-TV as producer of Faith Focus. While at the DCCCD, Brinkmann served as assistant producer for “America: The Second Century,” a 30-part award-winning PBS series that aired nationally for over a decade and won the Bronze Award at the 1980 International Film Festival. She was also named 1989 Innovator of the Year for her creation of a digital technology program.

Colleen Brinkmann enjoys speaking on her homeland of India and performed Manipuri classical dance from 1971-1990, when she turned over the role to her daughter. With an American father and an Indian mother, she is equally comfortable in Western and Eastern cultures, and with diverse faith groups. Colleen serves on the advisory board for the Methodist Hospital System and Clear Channel, and is a member of the Board of Trustees for Dallas HR Management Association, Inc.  She is also a part of the 2010 class of Leadership Texas, Feeding America’s Brand Initiation Team and is a former board member of the Dallas Memorial Center for Holocaust Studies.

Colleen resides in Dallas with her husband Barney and savors life with their three grown children. She attended University of the Pacific and earned her BFA from Southern Methodist University.

When not at the Food Bank, Colleen can be found engrossed in her various creative and writing adventures which mirror her philosophy about life - "live life in neon."
